29 CFR 1910.217(c)(2)(i)(a): Point of operation guard(s) on mechanical power press(es) did not prevent entry of hands or fingers into the point of operation by reaching through, over, under or around the guard(s): The following equipment did not prevent the operator from reaching over, under, through or around the guard: Center Fire Primer Line: A. The 8 full revolution continuous operation mechanical power presses were not guarded to prevent entry of hands into the point of operation. Press 5311 and press EA5324 had openings in guards that measured 3 and three-fourths inches wide by 1 and one-half inches with the guard 2 and one-half inches from the nearest pinch point. Shot Tower/Swager Area: B. The full revolution mechanical power press #20 had hinged sections as the guard. There was a 1 and one-half inch gap between the guard section. C. The full revolution mechanical power press #21 had hinged section as the guard. There was a 15 and one-fourth inch by 6 one-fourth inch gap under the guarded section. D. The part revolution V&O mechanical power press #11 had an opening at the bottom of the guard that was 21 inches wide by 6 and one-half inches high and 19 inches from the point of operation. E. The part revolution mechanical power press #4 had the top of the guard completely open and an opening at the bottom 21 inches wide by 15 and one-half inches tall and 14 inches from the point of operation. F. The part revolution mechanical power press #31 had an opening in the guard 19 and one-half inches wide by 2 inches tall and 15 inches from the point of operation. G.
