29 CFR 1910.178(g)(11): Precautions were not taken to prevent open flames, sparks, or electric arcs in battery charging area(s): On or about February 19, 2015: Employees using the Hobart Accu-Charge Battery Charger to charge the Caterpillar Powered Industrial Truck in the storage area of the facility were exposed to an electrical arc from the exposed electrical wiring of the battery charger cable. The employer failed to remove the battery charger from service until the repairs could be made.
