Section 5(a)(1) of the Occuaptional Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Employees were exposed to serious injury or death due to accumulation of powder in the areas of the lift arms where friction could cause an explosion. a) Glaze Barrel #1 b) Glaze barrel #2 c) Glaze BArrel #3 d) Glaze and Screen e) Blender Packer Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to inspect and clean these areas between each operation: Reference is made to industry practice.
