29 CFR 1910.134(k)(3): Training was not provided prior to requiring employees to use a respirator in the workplace: (a) Paint Booth: Employees are required to use a 3M, half mask negative pressure air purifying respirators with Organic Vapor Cartridges, during spray painting operations using PPG Industrial Alkyd Enamel, which contains Xylene. The employer did not provide training prior to required use of the respirator by employees in the workplace, as determined on or about as determined on or about 07/18/2014. (b) Sand Blasting Area: Employees are required to use a Supplied Air Line Hood during sand blasting operations using Black Beauty, which contains Silica. The employer did not provide training prior to required use of the respirator by employees in the workplace, as determined on or about as determined on or about 07/18/2014. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED.
