29 CFR 1910.134(a)(2): A respirator was not provided by the employer to each employee when such equipment was necessary to protect the health of the employee: a) Welding Area: On or about 12/20/2022, respirators were not provided to employees, including but not limited to Welders, who were exposed to an airborne concentration of copper fumes at an 8-hour time weighted average of 0.18 milligrams per cubic meter which was 1.8 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 0.1 milligrams per cubic meter. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
