29 CFR 1926.454(a): The employer did not have each employee who performed work while on a scaffold trained by a person qualified in the subject matter to recognize the hazards associated with the type of scaffold being used and to understand the procedures to control or minimize those hazards: On or about 14 July 2022, at Now Complex Building construction site, Estate Thomas, St. Thomas, VI. Employees engaged on construction operations were not trained by a competent person as evidenced by missing proper fall protection system in place, missing fall protection training, missing cross bracing, missing base plates and missing full planking on a wood scaffold at a height of 13 feet high from the ground level. NOTE: Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), respectively.
