29 CFR 1910.219(f)(3):Sprocket wheels and chains which were seven (7) feet or less above floors or platforms were not enclosed: (a)National Food NW LLC, at 25351 National Avenue, Plankinton, SD 57368: On or about and at times prior to February 21, 2025, the employer did not ensure a 6 inch round hole exposing a chain and sprocket to the left of the Candler on the Egg Packer Diamond 8300, was properly covered and enclosed. This condition exposed employee to caught-in and amputation hazards associated with the unguarded drive chain and sprocket. (b)National Food NW LLC, at 25351 National Avenue, Plankinton, SD 57368: On or about and at times prior to February 21, 2025, the employer did not ensure that guarding covers were properly covering gear wheels located on the lower left of station 12 on the Egg Packer Diamond 8300. This condition exposed employee to caught-in and amputation hazards associated with the unguarded sprocket wheels.
