29 CFR 1910.29(f)(4): The employer did not ensure that no opening in a stair rail system exceeded 19 inches (48 cm) at its least dimension: (a) Warehouse 2 - The fixed stairs with 10 risers had openings in the stair rail system on the right side going down in that the existing the stair rail systems consisted of a top rail only with no midrails, screens, mesh, intermediate vertical members, solid panels, or equivalent intermediate members, exposing employees to the hazard of falling up to 10 feet to the plant floor below, on or about March 13, 2024. No abatement certification or documentation required.
