Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.303(b)(7)(i):Unused openings in boxes, raceways, auxiliary gutters, cabinets, equipment cases, or housings were not effectively closed to afford protection substantially equivalent to the wall of the equipment: Facility: In the following locations, unused openings in electrical boxes were not effectively closed to prevent the entry of flammable and combustible materials: Cutting Booth: The electrical box located just outside of the booth had unused openings that would allow combustible dusts to accumulate inside the box and onto unprotected electrical components. Roof Booth: The electrical box located just outside the Roof Booth where fiberglass lay-up operations occurred had unused openings that would allow flammable vapors to enter and accumulate inside the box. In addition this box and the unused openings were exposed to the accumulation of combustible dusts from the adjacent Cutting Booth which adds to the hazard. The electrical components inside this box were unprotected against both the vapors and combustible dusts.
