Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(f)(3)(i):When servicing and/or maintenance is performed by a crew, craft, department or other group, they shall utilize a procedure which affords the employees a level of protection equivalent to that provided by the implementation of a personal lockout or tagout device.: a. On or about May 19, 2021, on the Ready to Eat Sandwich line, employees were exposed to machine hazards associated with moving parts, amputation and laceration hazards, during servicing and die changes made on the Multivac R145, Serial Number 291976. The employer failed to ensure the employees were offered protection similar to a personal lockout or tagout device when neither employee implemented energy control application steps or affixed group lock out or tagout.
