29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes: Shark Glass Recycling, LLC, Lavonia, GA - On or about February 28, 2019, the employer did not ensure that employees use the appropriate hand protection at all times when sorting glass in the PVB area. Employees were exposed to lacerations hazards when no hand protection was used. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
