29 CFR 1910.134(e)(1): General. The employer shall provide a medical evaluation to determine the employee's ability to use a respirator, before the employee is fit tested or required to use the respirator in the workplace. The employer may discontinue an employee's medical evaluations when the employee is no longer required to use a respirator. On or about October 25, 2018, jobsite located at 3665 E Industrial Way, Riviera Beach, FL 33404, the employer did not provide medical evaluations prior to requiring employees to wear 3M 6200 Reusable Half Face Mask Respirators in the workplace, while performing spray painting and/or abrasive blasting operations, where the sandblasting operator was exposed to 91 milligrams per cubic meter of Particulates Not Otherwise Regulated (Total Dust), which is 6.057 times the PEL of 15 milligrams per cubic meter.
