Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.333(c)(2): Only qualified persons may work on electric circuit parts or equipment that have not been deenergized under the procedures of paragraph (b) of this section. Such persons shall be capable of working safely on energized circuits and shall be familiar with the proper use of special precautionary techniques, personal protective equipment, insulating and shielding materials, and insulated tools: On or about August 15, 2018 through December 18, 2018, maintenance employees performed troubleshooting and servicing tasks on energized electrical components, including voltage testing. The employer did not ensure that such employees were qualified, capable of working safely through familiarity with special precautionary techniques, personal protective equipment, insulating and shielding materials and insulated tools necessary to safety accomplish such tasks. Employees were exposed to the hazards of shock, electrocution and arc flash/blast injuries. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
