29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee used appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. a. Ross Casting & Innovation, LLC located in Sidney, Ohio: On or about April 21, 2017, the employer did not ensure an employee working on the APF 5 was wearing a face shield to protect the employee's face from incidental aluminum splashes. The employee was only wearing safety glasses when skimming dross and adding aluminum ingots to the molten aluminum furnace. b. Ross Casting & Innovation, LLC located in Sidney, Ohio: On or about May 25, 2017, the employer did not ensure an employee working on the APF 10 was wearing a face shield to protect the employee's face from incidental aluminum splashes. The employee was only wearing safety glasses when skimming dross and adding aluminum ingots to the molten aluminum furnace.
