29 CFR 1926.757(e)(2): Except for paragraph (e)(4) of this section, no construction loads are allowed on the steel joists until all bridging is installed and anchored and all joist-bearing ends are attached. Located within Sequence 17 Music Wing on October 11, 2016 metal decking construction load bundle(s) were allowed to be placed on 1926.757 Table A covered type short span open web steel bar joist series 22K7-J240 exceeding 40 foot 7 inches spans were erected without all erection and horizontal bridging being installed and anchored and all joist-bearing ends secured with welded attachment anchorage exposing employees to the hazard of being struck by unintentional displacement of open web steel joist which exceeded the carrying capacity of the steel joist within pocketed bearing points.
