Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to burns from molten metal coming out the Mark V Pressure Pour spout due to unexpected nitrogen purge: a. Mark V Pressure Pour line 6. No warning for nitrogen purge to protect pour operator rodding the spout or worker who may be unde the area for repairs. b.Mark V Pressure Pour line 5. No warning for nitrogen purge to protect pour operator rodding the spout or worker who may be unde the area for repairs. Among feasible abatement methods is to install a pre-purge alarm that would warn warn employees of imending nitrogen purge so that they could leave the area toward a safe distance. ***THIS ITEM REQUIRES DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT***
