29 CFR 1910.219(b)(2):Cranks and connecting rods. Cranks and connecting rods, when exposed to contact, shall be guarded in accordance with paragraphs (m) and (n) of this section, or by a guardrail as described in paragraph (o)(5) of this section. (a)National Food NW LLC, at 25351 National Avenue, Plankinton, SD 57368: On or about and at times prior to February 21, 2025, the employer did not ensure the cranks and connecting rods on each side of the 12 Egg Packager stations of the Diamond 8200 Egg Packager was guarded. This condition exposed employees to caught-in and amputation hazards associated with the unguarded rotating parts.
