29 CFR 1910.147(c)(6)(i): The employer shall conduct a periodic inspection of the energy control procedure at least annually to ensure that the procedure and the requirements of this standard are being followed. a. On or about December 28, 2023, and at times prior, the employer did not ensure that periodic inspections were conducted at least annually with authorized employees who performed maintenance and servicing covered tasks on machinery throughout the facility, including, but not limited to, the Maintenance Dock's LD 6000 XD/DUMPMASTER Cardboard Dumper and Galbreath Compactor 1 (CMP1). As a result, employees were exposed to hazards associated with maintenance and servicing covered tasks on the machinery. b. On or about November 21, 2023, and at times prior, the employer did not ensure that periodic inspections were conducted at least annually with authorized employees who performed maintenance and servicing covered tasks on machinery throughout the facility, including, but not limited to, the Universal Sorter Machine. As a result, employees were exposed to hazards associated with maintenance and servicing covered tasks on the machinery.
