29 CFR 1926.251(a)(6): Each day before being used, the sling and all fastenings and attachments shall be inspected for damage or defects by a competent person designated by the employer. Additional inspections shall be performed during sling use. a) The employer did not ensure that the slings in use were inspected for damage or defects by a competent person designated by the employer. On or about August 1, 2023, and at times prior thereto; when employees used the 4-foot sling, serial 102953 that was last inspected on 03/18/2019.
