Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.146(c)(1):The employer did not evaluate the workplace to determine if any spaces were permit-required confined spaces: a. Blast - On or about January 20, 2022, the employer failed to identify the side entry hatch into the automated blast machine as being a confined space, exposing employees to caught in hazards. b. Water Treatment Area - On or about February 28, 2022, the employer failed to identify the underground vessel pit as being a permit required confined space, exposing employees to atmospheric, electrical and caught in hazards. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
