29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch: a. In the Machine Shop: A Dewalt table grinder used by employees to clean and repair parts had a tongue guard that was set greater than one fourth of an inch from the wheel. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards. b. In the Shore Support Area: A Jet bench grinder used by employees to sharpen tools had a tongue guard that was set greater than one fourth of an inch from the wheel. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards.
