29 CFR 1926.1153(c)(1): Specified exposure control methods. For each employee engaged in a task identified on Table 1, the employer shall fully and properly implement the engineering controls, work practices, and respiratory protection specified for the task on Table 1, unless the employer assesses and limits the exposure of the employee to respirable crystalline silica in accordance with paragraph (d) of this section: a. 1650-1660 US 22 East & Vauxhall Rd., Union, NJ - Treasure Island Storage - Union The employer failed to fully and properly implement engineering controls, work practices, and/or respiratory protection for employees exposed to respirable crystalline silica. Employees engaged in masonry activities used a Husqvarna K770 handheld cutoff saw to dry cut concrete block. The exposure control methods implemented by employer were not effective as no wetting was used during cutting operations which created clouds of silica dust. The integrated water delivery system for the handheld saw was not being utilized. Violation observed on or about May 6, 2021
