29 CFR 1910.215(a)(4): Work rests. On offhand grinding machines, work rests were not kept adjusted closely to the wheel with a maximum opening of one-eighth inch to prevent the work from being jammed between the wheel and the rest, which may cause wheel breakage. (a) In the southwest side of the ammonia compressor room, on or about 3/23/2021, the work rest on a Westward 4TM70 6" Bench Grinder was not adjusted to within one-eighth of an inch, exposing employees to projectile hazards from flying wheel fragments.
