29 CFR 1910.184(e)(1): Sling identification. Alloy steel chain slings shall have permanently affixed durable identification stating size, grade, rated capacity, and reach. a. On or about January 13, 2021, the employer permitted the use of the rusted clevis grab hook and steel alloy chain to be used as a sling without the permanently affixed durable identification stating size, grade, rated capacity and reach. The sling device was attached to the Toyota Forklift Truck, Model 8FGCU25, S/N 51008, Company Tag FL01 mast to move the 40 foot S4 steel beam bundle.
