29 CFR 1910.266(h)(2)(i):Once the backcut was made the feller did not immediately move a safe distance away from the tree on the retreat path: a) Worksite, 121 Walker Lane, Tipton, PA: On October 28, 2020, an employee was felling an 80 year old, approximately 40 foot tall oak tree and did not move immediately away after making the final cut. The employee was struck and killed by a branch that broke off as the dead tree fell into 3 live trees that caused several large pieces/limbs to break off and come back towards where deceased was standing.
