29 CFR 1926.1153(f)(1): The employer allowed dry sweeping or dry brushing where such activity could contribute to employee exposure to respirable crystalline silica and wet sweeping, HEPA-filtered vacuuming or other methods that minimize the likelihood of exposure were feasible. a) Thurston Road, Rochester, NY - On or about, and prior to 7/23/19, the controlling employer allowed dry sweeping where such activity could contribute to contract employee exposure to respirable crystalline silica. Contract employees dry swept and shoveled debris containing respirable crystalline silica from the floors. Bulk samples taken from the area revealed debris taken from the area contained 3%-10% crystalline silica. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
