29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation: Optima Stantron Corp. Div of Elma Electronic Inc., Lawrenceville, GA - On or about 02/14/2019, employer did not provide employees with the appropriate eye and face protection for use while working with: a) corrosives chemicals, such as but not limited to Envirokote 3385 NP, Industrial Purple Cleaner and Degreaser, containing nitric acid and sodium hydroxide, respectively - employees only used safety glasses and latex gloves; b) propane when changing the propane tanks of the forklifts- employees did not wear proper eye and face protection; c) the saws - employees with prescribed lenses did not wear safety glasses or prescribed safety glasses.
