29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): a). On or about 7/6/17, on site, for employees handling InkCups Ink and Nazdar Ink Thinner to add to the ink machine on a daily basis. InkCups Ink is a corrosive and and contains chemicals such as, but not limited to, Cyclohexanone. Nazdar Ink contains chemical such as, Ethylene glycol monopropyl ether. The employer did not conduct an assessment to require the use of PPE such as safety glasses and gloves. b). On or about 7/6/17, on site for employees handling PP Primer Wipe to wipe the sunglasses on a daily basis. The primer contains chemicals such as, but not limited to, Xylene. The employer did not conduct an assessment to require the use of PPE such as safety glasses and gloves. c). On or about 7/3/17, in the ink room, for the foreman using the Super 16 Paint Gun Cleaner to clean the ink cups that contain InkCups Ink and thinner on a daily basis. The Gun Cleaner contains chemicals such as, but not limited to, Toluene. The employer did not conduct an assessment to require the use of PPE such as safety glasses and gloves.
