29 CFR 1910.1000(a)(2): Employees were exposed to an airborne concentration of carbon monoxide (CO), listed in Table Z-1, in excess of the 8-hour Time Weighted Average (TWA) concentration of 50 Parts Per Million (PPM): (a) On or about May 24, 2017: An employee working in the kitchen was exposed to 208 parts carbon monoxide per million parts of air as determined by the employee's Carboxyhemoglobin (%COHb) medical blood gas measurement following the employee's exposures to carbon monoxide (CO). (b) On or about May 24, 2017: An employee working in the kitchen and other areas of the facility was exposed to 89 parts carbon monoxide per million parts of air as determined by the employee's Carboxyhemoglobin (%COHb) medical blood gas measurement following the employee's exposures to carbon monoxide (CO). Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, within ten (10) days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documents showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including the steps it is taking to assure each employee is protected from carbon monoxide exposure 50 PPM or greater. Abatement certification is required for this item; use the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET for this purpose.
