Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1): The employer did not establish a program consisting of an energy control procedures, employee training and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performed any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energizing, start-up or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment shall be isolated from the energy source and rendered inoperative: On or about March 21, 2017, the employer had not developed energy isolation control procedures and training for employees required to service and/or perform maintenance on equipment such as but not limited to the Bagging and Shaker machines. Failure to do so exposed employees to caught-in and amputation hazards if the machines were unexpectedly energized.
