29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding is not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about January 25, 2017, and at times prior there, employees are not provided with adequate guarding to protect them from rotating parts and the point of operation while working on a jaw puller machine on the kill floor. Employees are exposed to caught in between, crushed by, and amputation hazards. On or about January 25, 2017, and at times prior there to, an employee operated the Wyson and Miles Co. sheer machine that had a guard that did not restrict access to the point of operation. The employee was exposed to caught in between, crushed by, and amputation hazards.
