29 CFR 1926.352(d): Suitable fire extinguishing equipment shall be immediately available in the work area and shall be maintained in a state of readiness for instant use. a. On or about August 11, 2016, located on the third floor at the asbestos containment area, welding and cutting was being performed above the containment which started a fire, there were no fire extinguishers immediately available and a water hose was brought from across the 3rd floor to the fire area that was too short to safely extinguish the fire, thereby exposing the employees to a fire hazard.
