29 CFR 1910.134(e)(1): The employer did not provide a medical evaluation to determine the employee's ability to use a respirator, before the employee is fit tested or required to use the respirator in the workplace. a) On or about December 1, 2015, or prior thereto: Maintenance employees responded to ammonia releases with full face cartridge respirators, but were not medically evaluated. Ammonia releases have included the release from the Line B refrigeration system. Abatement certification and documentation are required under this item.
