Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a. Roll-up # 3, near ticket station - The employee's working near the roll-up machine and ticket station were not protected from the pinch point hazard. A pinch point/crushing hazard was created between the arm of the roll-up machine and steel upright beam, when the arm of the roll-up machine automatically moved back towards the beam. b. Re-shear Machine, Roll-up area - The in-running nip point on the rollup machine was not protected or guarded. The employees were exposed to an in running nip point between the rolls and frame of the machine.
