29 CFR 1910.134(k)(1): The employer did not ensure that each employee can demonstrate knowledge of items in (i)-(vii): SPRAY BOOTHS and WELDING AREAS: On or about July 10, 2014, the employer required employees to wear respirators when welding stainless and/or galvanized steel or when spray painting manufactured parts. The employer had not provided the employees with effective training on how respirators can and cannot protect them; how to use, inspect and maintain their respirators; and how to recognize when the respirator may be causing harm.
