29 CFR 1910.305(b)(1)(i): Conductors entering cutout boxes, cabinets, or fittings were not protected from abrasions: The employer does not ensure conductors entering cutout boxes are protected from abrasions. a. This violation was observed on July 15, 2013, in the Production area where employees were exposed to an electrical shock hazard when operating Loom # 1 without the wiring for fan entering the junction having protection from abrasions. b. This violation was observed on July 15, 2013, in the Production area where employees were exposed to an electrical shock hazard when operating Loom # 2 without the wiring for fan entering the junction having protection from abrasions. c. This violation was observed on July 15, 2013, in the Production area where employees were exposed to an electrical shock hazard when operating Loom # 3 without the wiring for fan entering the junction having protection from abrasions. d. Unitex Bag, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.305(b)(1)(i) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 316182450, citation number 01 item number 020(g) and was affirmed as a final order on June 14, 2012, with a final abatement date of June 14, 2012 with respect to a workplace located at 10550 Beaumont Hwy, Houston, TX. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that conductors entering cutout boxes, cabinets or fittings are protected from abrasions.
