Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish emp loyment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that w ere causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:04/08 /10 Condition:Channelization devices such as traffic tapers and buffer areas wer e not used for channeling vehicular traffic around a work zone, on which a JLG M odel: #600A articulating boom aerial lift obstructed 8-1/2 to 11-1/2 feet of a s treet, that was 23 to 26 feet wide. Among other methods, one feasible and accept able method of abatement is to provide traffic cones or other channelization dev ices; to provide motorists with a clear path of travel around the work zone; and to prevent employees and equipment used by employees working in the work zone f rom being struck by motor vehicles.
