Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004 Hazard: UNAPEQUIP
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Construction Site: The Terex Aerial Scissor Lift, serial number 99360123, areas where the scissor lift was used were not inspected for drop-offs or holes, bumps, and floor obstruction before being used in such areas, exposing employees to overturning of the lift. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the hazard is: To comply with ANSI/SIA 92.6, paragraph 7.8(1) through 7.8(9). Before the aerial platform is used and during use, the user shall check the area in which the aerial platform is to be used for possible hazards such as, but not limited to: drop-offs, holes, bumps, floor obstruction, debris, and other possible unsafe conditions.
