Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not provide a place of employment and employment which were free of recognized hazards in that employees were subject to lacerations from unpadded bolts on a forklift. Crown forklift #705 had protruding bolts at the knee level of the operator. (Item #5a) Among others, a feasible and acceptable abatement method is to install padding to cover the bolts of the forklift. CERTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM
