Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.109(b)(1): Explosives or blasting agents were not stored, handled, and/or transported so that such storage, handling, and transporting of such explosives or blasting agents did not constitute an undue hazard to life: a) On or about April 28, 2025, and at times prior, the employer, Powdr - Copper Mountain LLC DBA Copper Mountain Resort, did not ensure explosives and detonators were transported in such a way as to prevent an undue hazard to employees. Employees engaged in avalanche blasting operations transported explosives and detonators together on vehicles when traveling to blasting locations. During transport and travel, explosives and detonators were not stored in separate magazines designed for that purpose. This condition exposed employees to explosion hazards.
