29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc. a) On 9/25/2024 and prior too, the employer did not ensure that the point of operation where employees were working, for machine such as, but not limited to; the A36 Toshiba CNC machine (model # BP-150.R22, SN 914853) was guarded in that the door's interlocks were disabled at the control panel selector switch by the key being turned to the off position, exposing operators to a caught in hazard from the rotating spindles while performing task such as walking inside of the equipment to taking take measurements and perform minor cleaning.
