29 CFR 1926.200(g)(2): 29 CFR 1926.200(g)(2): Traffic control devices, including signs, signals, markings, barricades, and other devices, used for protection of construction workers did not conform to Part VI of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways, 2009 Edition, December 2009 (including Revision 1 dated May 2012 and Revision 2 dated May 2012). Westbound lanes of West Boulevard between Sisson Avenue and South Whitney Street, Hartford, CT 06105: On or about June 12, 2024, the employer failed to ensure the signs, markings, type of barricades to place, and other traffic control devices in the west bound lanes that created a road closure and detour conformed to Part 6 of the MUTCD requirements as indicated in the following instances: a) Signs were not set up at the correct height as per MUTCD. b) Signs were not of the correct legend for indicating how many feet ahead for Road Work, Road Closed, and the Detour. c) Detour signs were not adequately marked with the legend "DETOUR" and not marked with the standard temporary route signs and destination signs. d) A left lane closure and merger with the right lane did not have a transition area containing a merging taper. e) A type 3 barricade was not provided at the road closure.
