29 CFR 1926.651(j)(2): Employees were not protected from excavated or other materials or equipment that could pose a hazard by falling or rolling into excavations, or by a combination of both if necessary: a. At the intersection of International Speedway and Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach Florida. On or about May 28, 2024, in the 6-feet deep trench, the employer exposed employees to struck-by hazards and engulfment hazards from unstable soil spoil piles placed at the top leading edge of the sidewalls of the trench with excavated soil and debris sliding back into the trench.
