29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards were present, or were likely to be present, which necessitated the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): a) Ammo International, Inc.- Throughout the warehouse/storage area: The employer did not conduct a hazard assessment to determine the hazards present in the workplace and to assess the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for each hazard. Employees were exposed to lacerations when picking/open boxes containing sharp metal objects and foot injuries from forklifts or heavy materials falling on them, occurred on or about 5/15/2024.
