29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1):The employer did not establish a program consisting of an energy control procedure, employee training and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performed any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energizing, startup or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment shall be isolated from the energy source and rendered inoperative: On or about March 21, 2024, the employer did not develop and implement an energy control program to protect employees who performed servicing and maintenance activities on various pieces of machinery. Employees were exposed laceration and amputation injuries in the event the equipment unexpected started or moved while performing activities, such as blade changes, blade adjustments and changing sanding belts. Employees are responsible for blade changes and blade adjustments on the Molders, Planers, and Resaw machines. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
