29 CFR 1910.178(q)(7): Industrial trucks were not examined before being placed in service: a.) Warehouse - On or about January 11, 2024, the employer did not ensure forklifts were examined prior to being placed in service to verify their condition. An employee was observed operating a forklift with a broken taillight. RQL Scrap Metal, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 1910.178(q)(7), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1551898, citation number 1, item number 4b, and was affirmed as a final order on February 15, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 6548 S. Narragansett Avenue, Chicago, IL 60638. RQL Scrap Metal, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 1910.178(q)(7), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1593852, citation number 1, item number 4, and was affirmed as a final order on November 1, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 6548 S.
