Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employers shall provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new chemical hazard the employees have not previously been trained about is introduced into their work area. Information and training may be designed to cover categories of hazards (e.g., flammability, carcinogenicity) or specific chemicals. Chemical-specific information must always be available through labels and safety data sheets. On or about December 8, 2023 through March 6, 2024, employees are exposed to respiratory hazards. Employees were not aware of the hazards including but not limited to Multi-Thane 300 High Solids Acrylic Polyurethane Jet Black (Pt A), Multi-Thane 330/340 Acrylic polyurethane Cure (Pt B), and R7K119 Lacquer Thinner. Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area. Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
