29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycle(s): a.) On or about November 16, 2023, and at times prior, employees were exposed to laceration and amputation hazards due to the lack of point of operation guards on the masonry saw (western most saw, a Target GM2051 Masonry Saw; no serial number) in the saw room. There was no work rule, push stick, or equivalent measure to protect employees from exposure to the saw blade while cutting brick. The guard is not utilized in a way that is positioned where employees do not get their fingers in the danger zone. b.) On or about November 16, 2023, and at times prior, employees were exposed to laceration and amputation hazards due to the lack of point of operation guards on the masonry saw (eastern most saw, a Target GM2051 Masonry Saw; no serial number) in the saw room. There was no work rule, push stick, or equivalent measure to protect employees from exposure to the saw blade while cutting brick. The guard is not utilized in a way that is positioned where employees do not get their fingers in the danger zone. c.) On or about November 16, 2023, and at times prior, employees were exposed to laceration and amputation hazards due to the lack of a guard on the masonry saw (Emerson EL10; ELT3E2D) in the indoor, brick pallet packing room. There was no work rule, push stick, or equivalent measure to protect employees from exposure to the saw blade while cutting brick. The guard is not utilized in a way that is positioned where employees do not get their fingers in the danger zone.
