29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (0.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder was used to gain access: On or about August 4, 2023, employees were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 20 feet while ascending and descending an extension ladder to access the second story roof because the side rails did not extend at least three feet above the landing surface. MARGARITO CUAHUIZO AHUATL DBA AHUATL CONSTRUCTION WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1), WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 1635846, CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM NUMBER 2 AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON FEBRUARY 21, 2023, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 902 SUNBURST LANE, WASHINGTON, ILLINOIS 61571.
