29 CFR 1910.28(b)(11)(i): The employer did not ensure that each employee exposed to an unprotected side or edge of a stairway landing that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level is protected by a guardrail or stair rail system. a) United Premium Foods, LLC./1 Amboy Avenue/Woodbridge, NJ 070955 - Sausage Room: Employee(s) such as machine operator(s) used a two-tier stairway atop a work platform at the front of the AMFEC Vacuum Mixer Model #510, Serial #2012014 for greater working height and closer access to the open top of the mixer. Their elevated position atop the stairway defeated the fall protection afforded by the work platform guard-rail system, exposing them to 5 ft fall hazard to the floor. Observed on or about on 07/28/2023.
